Touchdown 2012 Hyundai Veloster!!!!

The All-New 2012 Hyundai Veloster has finally arrived!  Murdock Hyundai of Salt Lake City has 15 that will be here by next week.  The first couple hit the ground today and they look AWESOME!  The Veloster will continue Hyundai's string of recent hits.  The 2012 Veloster features an all new "Infotainment" system for Hyundai.  You have the ability to customize your audi/navigation system with your own pictures...videos...and music.  The 2012 Veloster also comes with Hyundai's new "Blue Link System" and is Hyundai's 3rd car to get up to 40mpg.  Please let call with any questions or to schedule a test drive.

It's been a while since I last posted a personal message.  I would just like to say thanks to all of our amazing customers.  July was the most successful month that Murdock Hyundai of Salt Lake City has ever had!  We did a total of 203 units sold.  Our previous best was 145.  That is incredible!  Thank you for supporting us and our "No Regrets" way of doing business.  We appreciate your business...referrals...service...etc!  Hyundai has come a long long way since I began here in 2009.  We used to laugh at our management team when they said one day we'd hit 200 cars a month.  But with all of Hyundai's incredible new designs...it's become hard to keep our product on the lot.  Please let us know if we can do anything at all for you down the road.  Myself and our team are here to help in any way that we can!  Thank you again for your support!

One Million Hyundai Sonatas!!! SWEET!!!!!

Hyundai achieves another great milestone as the one millionth Sonata rolls off the assembly line at Alabama production plant.

The car in question is a 2012 limited edition 2.0 turbo with a radiant silver paint. T mark the event, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama’s President and CEO Young Deuk Lim drove the Sonata off the quality inspection line with Vice President Production Ashley Frye and Robert Coleman, HMMA’s Team Member of the year in the passenger seats.

Hyundai has been on a constant rise in the American market since 2006 and the production of the old Sonata. In this short period of time they’ve come a long way and achieved incredible results by making the car that people need, rather than what they want!

I’m sure you have experienced this too. Hyundai, and Korean cars in general, are superb value, very easy to live with and enough for every occasion. But they lack the feel and passion you get from a European and even an American car. Trouble is, in today’s world of efficient motoring, nobody really cares about the ‘feel’ of the car anymore. All people want is value for money.  And that’s why Hyundai is so successful.

“I am so proud of everything our Team Members have accomplished in the past six years, eclipsing 1,000,000 total vehicles manufactured in November 2009, producing more than 300,000 vehicles in 2010 and now our 1,000,000th Sonata,” said President Lim. “This milestone provides us an opportunity celebrate our many achievements and take pride in knowing our Hyundai spirit is alive and ready to reach any goal we set for ourselves.”

The plant has produced three different vehicles since 2006, the Sonata, Santa Fe and Elantra. Mass production of the Sonata began at the site on April 5, 2005. The plant built the Santa Fe from April 2006 until August 2010. The Elantra sedan joined the Sonata in November 2010.

More than 2,500 Team Members are employed at the plant. Since production began in 2005, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama has built more than 1.4 million vehicles.

No June gloom for Hyundai and Kia

Hyundai and Kia have been following a very successful formula of combining fresh styling with impressive fuel economy numbers, bringing out models that are easy on the eyes and easy on the gas tank, like the Hyundai Sonata and the Kia Soul.
Hyundai – Up 26 Percent
Repetition can sometimes put you in a rut, but not for Hyundai, as it’s posting its sixth consecutive month of all-time record sales. The Korean automaker sold 59,209 vehicles in June—just 5 vehicles shy of last month’s sales of 59,214. Total sales are up 26 percent for the year, and up 16 percent from June of last year. Neither the Elantra and Sonata reached the 20,000 mark like they did in April and May, but it was close, selling 19,992 and 18,644, respectively. Though the Accent was doing better last year at 4615, more people opted for it in June, selling 3612 units compared to May at 1529 units, likely due to the all-new 2012 model just hitting the showrooms. The Santa Fe and Tucson crossovers also did slightly better than last month along with the Genesis coupe/sedan, while the luxurious Equus sold no more or less than last month at 221. With the launch of the Veloster right around the corner, the newest addition to the lineup will further boost the number of the 40 mpg-ers, which accounted for 40 percent of vehicles sold in June.
Kia – Up 41.2 Percent
Kia is also welcoming the money flow and making history posting the best quarterly sales performance of 140,330 units. No June gloom for the automaker; It sold 45,044 vehicles, with the Sorento crossover leading the way with 10,013 units sold. The launch of the Sorento hasn’t hurt Sportage sales, as the smaller SUV sold 4377 vehicles, just 361 less than last month’s numbers of 4738. It’s no surprise the funky Soul continues to shine; there’s a reason so many editions have been launched. The Soul posted 11,314 for June compared to 10,459 last May. The Optima comes in behind the Forte, selling 7,099 and 8191, respectively.
